Evolve 'n Thrive Events has come a long way since it's inception in 2018. Our first annual Gay...la was a lot of fun, and we raised the funds to apply for our 501(c)3. We received our nonprofit status in May 2019 and got to work planning the 2020 Gay...la. It is nice to have a board to help with the planning, fundraising, and organizing! Everyone has done an incredible job, and I am truly thankful!
This year's event will be held at the Pensacola Museum of Commerce on January 11, 2020 from 6 p.m. to Midnight. We are stoked about this venue. It's gorgeous and goes along with the theme of Paint the Town.
Food is being provided by Cactus Flower 12th Avenue and Henny Penny's Patisserie. I am definitely looking forward to their treats! Richey's East will be bartending the event.
We have an amazing lineup of Drag Queens to get the dancing started. Vanessa Vogue will be the Emcee, and we have title performers, including the Princess of Pensacola, Monica Heart.
All of this is being made possible by our sponsors. Red Ribbon Charitable Foundation came in as the Ruby title sponsor. Visit Pensacola awarded us a marketing grant. Cox Communications and Southern Equality Fund showed their support as Lavender sponsors. Jo Rich Beauty contributed as well as donating a silent auction item. Gibson, Renfroe, & Zieman Family Dentistry also showed their support of the event. We are truly grateful for these companies and organizations for their support of our cause and our community.
Other entertainment includes DJ Mas and Carter J. Carter J will be sketching portraits. We also have an excellent silent auction.
In addition to the Masquerade Ball, we will also be hosting a Meet 'n Greet at Dolce & Gelato on 12th Avenue from 6:00 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday, January 10, 2020. There will be live music and more! We also have some giveaways!
On Sunday, January 12, 2020, we will reconvene at The Vineyard on 12th Avenue for brunch.
I know I am certainly looking forward to this event and for the future events to follow!
